Gladesmore is a wonderful school. It is a beacon in its local Tottenham community, providing generations of children with a happy school experience and successful outcomes. No surprise that it is heavily over-subscribed each year and has been asked to expand with bulge classes.
Gladesmore’s success in the past decades has been driven by strong leadership and by a consensual and pragmatic approach. The Gladesmore way has been to bring all stakeholders on the journey together. A consistent focus on doing the basics well has embedded a great ethos of calm in the school, creating an environment that is ready for learning. Talented teaching staff have shown great passion and commitment to our young people, resulting in a stable and harmonious environment where high expectations apply to all students.
Generous backing from Moody’s Corporation in a strong long-term relationship has enhanced the financial backdrop at Gladesmore but has also allowed for valuable mentoring and work experience engagements that broaden the students’ horizons. Likewise, the school’s long-standing partnership with St Catherine’s College of Oxford University has given Gladesmore students the opportunity to visit a top quality institution and get a taste of university life and a successful partnership with the Royal Springboard charity has resulted in dozens of Gladesmore pupils progressing to fully paid scholarships at top boarding schools in Key Stage 5. Beyond Tottenham, Gladesmore plays a leading role across London and beyond as an exemplary community school, often picked out by DfE for visits by international delegations.
What next for Gladesmore? The Governors see no room for complacency. Instead, the coming challenges will be greater than ever before.
If you are passionate about outstanding education and believe you have the skills and expertise to lead our school through the next phase of our development then we would really like to hear from you.
Alex Sweet
Chair of Governors
