On behalf of our Federation’s Governing Body, I am delighted that you are interested in applying for the position of Headteacher at Trafalgar Schools’ Federation.
As Chair of Governors I know just how important the role of Headteacher is in making a school successful. Our previous Headteacher retired last summer. She successfully led the Infant school to Ofsted Outstanding and, in the last three years, led the transition of the Infant and Junior schools to a Federation. Since her departure we have continued to move forward having put interim arrangements in place. We are now looking for the right person to lead us on the next stage of our journey.
Both Infant and Junior Schools are 3-form entry, with our reception classes on a separate site approximately 5 minutes’ walk from our main Infant and Junior School buildings. We believe that both schools provide exceptional learning and development opportunities to our community, and both have rich opportunities for progression.
We are proud to offer a truly inclusive education, across all cultures and abilities. We have the highest aspirations for all our pupils and our children show a real desire to learn. All staff and pupils share an inspirational positive approach to diversity and celebrating difference, with a vision of promoting equality and opportunity for all.
It is essential that our new Headteacher shares these values and continues to promote them. Trafalgar Infant School was judged Outstanding by Ofsted; the Junior School was judged as Requires Improvement in September 2019. Clearly the key priority of the Governing Body, and therefore our new Headteacher, is to continue and develop the processes already begun to improve the Junior School, while also ensuring that the Infant School continues to provide the highest standards of education for our children.
We are seeking a high quality individual who will be passionate and excited about working in our community. We need a school leader who will inspire our staff and support and encourage all of our children to be aspirational and make excellent progress in their learning. We are looking for a person who has vision, courage and resilience, someone who is also kind, nurturing, thoughtful and understands how to help children develop a love of learning in the broadest sense, so that they acquire the personal qualities and academic skills necessary to transfer successfully to secondary school.
We encourage you to visit the school where you will find a welcoming, calm, and positive learning environment. All visits will be fully COVID-19 compliant, and as such it may not be possible to provide as full a tour as we would like, but we will do everything we can to ensure you can see as much of the school in a working setting as possible.
Should you wish to arrange a tour or have any queries, then in the first instance contact Mike Phillips at our advisors Pentir and he will look to support you. He can be contacted on 07830-313 915 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On behalf of the governors, I would like to thank you again for your interest in this post and hope that you are as excited about Trafalgar’s future as we are. We look forward to receiving your application.
